London 2019: Week 3, Part 3. Blenheim Part 2.

As of today, Thursday, September19th both Gus and the Gold Toilet, America, are as still missing.  Both disappeared from Blenheim Palace on our visit there last Friday.  Mystery still not solved!

Part 1 of the Blenheim Trip blog covered the inside of the Palace.  This blog will cover the outside adventure we had at Blenheim.  It was a beautiful sunny day!  Here are the fountains at the back of the Palace.  They are also behind the cafe that has outdoor seating.

No place was safe from Cattelan's art.  Here is a piece entitled, Daddy, Daddy that he created in 2009.  Pinocchio has met his demise in the Palace fountain!  Based on the part of the story where Pinocchio saves his father and Jiminy Cricket from the whale, but here tragically drowns. Cattelan reminds us that not all heroes live happily ever after.  Being someone who has a Pinocchio collection, I found this pretty upsetting!!!!

Students having lunch before they explore the rest of the property.

Cattelan also created a miniature Sistine Chapel you could actually walk into.

In the old stables they installed a replica of the English camp at Blenheim.

A model of the Battle of Blenheim. Also throughout the Palace are displays of miniature soldiers from all the different wars the British were involved in.

Right next to the train they were dismantling a replicate of the Rose Theatre where they had performances of some of Shakespeare's plays this summer.

The Winston Churchill Train that takes you out to the Pleasure Gardens which has the Marlborough Maze, Butterfly House, lawn games and a pizza cafe!

Anna and Ryan decided to walk out there.  I think they didn't want to pay 50 pence for the ride on the train!!!

There are lots of great and unique trees on the property.  Here are some photos taken on the train ride.

Gus's Blenheim Adventure:

Corey decided to take Gus on a tour of Blenheim.  It started here at the entrance of the Palace

 Gus enjoying the Butterfly House.

He also enjoyed the Rose Garden.

So Gus is still missing.  Did Corey lose him? Was he kidnapped by the toilet thieves? Or did he just fly the coop?  Maybe with his buddies from the Chapel.  We may never know!!!!  Good luck Gus!

 THAT'S ALL FOLKS!  COO....
