FINALLY BATH!!!! LONDON 2019

At 7:45 Saturday morning the bus that was supposed to pick us up a week ago Friday finally arrived to take us to Bath.  When we arrived, we immediately went to the Roman Bath where we got headsets to do a self-guided tour.  One of the options was a commentary by Bill Bryson.  Very humorous!  The group before we went into the baths.

A map of the baths

Hot water boiling....

A large model of what the ancient baths looked like.

The remains of the stone pediment.  A projection on this showed us what it looked liked painted back in the day.

Throughout the exhibit there were projections of Romans walking by and showing us what their daily lives were like.

Remains of steps with what they originally looked like.

Loved the texture of the wall.

All the stacked tiles throughout the baths were heated to heat up steam rooms, etc.

A projection of what rooms looked like above the heated tiles.

Don't want to know what Ryan is doing.  I took this before they turned around and waved at me.

A fountain.  All the glittery stuff are coins people have thrown into it.

As you leave the exhibit, you can drink some of the mineral water.  It was very warm and didn't taste that great!

Outside the Baths is the Abbey.

A protest outside the baths.

A street performer portraying a statue.

After our tour we went shopping and stopped at various places for lunch.

Julia and Jennifer had lunch in the smallest pub in Bath

I had my fix of Greek food across from the smallest pub.  Where the girls sat in a tiny room upstairs in the pub, I ate outside.  Great place to people watch.

Slow cooked lamb shank with potatoes and carrots.

Warm pita bread.

Loukaniko, greek sausage with lemon.

Finished it off with a warm piece of Galatoboutiko.  Custard in filo dough with honey and cinnamon.  The best! Paul Sannerud you would love it.

The Pulteney Bridge is one of two bridges in the world that has shops on it.  The other is in Florence, Italy.

 The shops on the bridge.

The hill that has the Crescent Building at the top.  I was too lazy to walk up there.  Corey, however, did.

On Saturday Bath was swamped with Rugby fans.  This was a display in a brew pub window.  Pretty funny.

Bath has a great Theatre Royal.  They are performing the play, Posh, which is touring and is what the movie, The Riot Club, was based on.

Some students went to the Jane Austen house.

Ahnika went to the Fashion Museum and submitted these photos.

At 3:45 we boarded the bus for our 3 hour trip back to London.  Some students immediately were on their phones.

Others rested.......

THAT'S ALL FOLKS!!!!
