London 2010 Week Two: Part Two

This is Part Two of our second week in London. I want to start off with the students hamming it up in Trafalgar Square (see Mike above) after their Art in London class which went to the Portrait Gallery at the National Gallery the first week of class and then this past week the went to The Banqueting House.
I have a feeling the pigeon won this battle!

Rick being a tourist!

Students took in the Horse Guards near The Banqueting House.

THE BANQUETING HOUSE:

The main hall...

Why are these students laying down?

While Joanna and Jarod have a conversation after dancing, Tom is flat on his back taking pictures of the beautiful ceiling.

Michael bowing before Sir David Dean!

BLENHEIM PALACE:
On Friday we went to Blenheim Palace, home of the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. We had a beautiful sunny day to visit the Palace and walk around the grounds and gardens. Since last year there have been some new additions to the tour. Upstairs on the second floor there is an exhibit with interactive video and historical characters and senarios that come to life! It is quite good. There is a cinema and another exhibit in one of the buildings near the back gardens. Of course the Maze, Butterfly House, Secret Garden, and Gardens are all still there. Enjoy some of the photos.

We left London at 8:30 am and arrived in Blenheim at 10:00 an hour earlier than our tour was scheduled. We had no traffic going there. Weird!

This past year they restored the ceiling at the main outside entrance.

The Lake...

Students returning to the main entrance to begin the tour after visiting the back gardens. We had a guided tour of the Palace and were then free to explore and roam around the rest of the property.

So what do you see David?

Camden Town:
Tom, Rick, and I went to Camden Town on Wednesday to look for AK 47 guns (fake one's of course for the play, God's Country.) It was their first time to Camden. I had to go back on Sunday to get the guns because they were sold out. We also got Tom a T-Shirt for his skinhead character. We had a great time in Camden and had lunch at Belgo's which is one of my favorite restaurants. It is a Belgium restaurant where mussles are their specialty. Here are some of the sights!

Tom and Rick ate mussels for the first time and liked them! Victory!
