Andrew dressed as a Viking for Holloween! He likes to dress up as you will see in next weeks blog on our trip to Scotland.
To further prove my theory that pigeons are taking over the world. Here is a tiled mural on the side of a building in Derry, Ireland paying homage to one of their leaders!
THE OLD VIC: HEDDA GABLER
For the Page to Stage Class we read and went to see Hedda Gabler adapted by Brian Friel and starring Sheridan Smith who had seen a couple of years ago as Elle in Legally Blond. I also believe she has been in Dr. Who. The set was incredible. All glass rooms which made a terrific backdrop for all the blood at the end of the play as you can see in the picture.
The set. Note the blood on the glass....
Tony and Sheridan Smith. And no he didn't give her the flowers!
ALMOST, MAINE...
We performed the play, Almost, Maine, by John Cariani at Tara Theatre in Earlsfield October 23 - 27th to very good houses. Our audience consisted of parents, Rose Bruford students, past and present, the students' professors, St. John's University students who are also studying in London, the British public, and long time British friends who come to every show we do, and some new patrons of Tara. All of them really enjoyed it. The show was very well received! Here are some photos from the different vignettes. All scenes take place in a fictional town called Almost in Maine at 9 o'clock at night with the Northern Lights appearing at the end of each scene. This was done using projections designed by John Goblirsch. Set was designed by Elyssa Mattson, lighting by Matt Schneider, costumes by Natasha Nelson, props by Julie Frederickson, and sound by Charlotte Deranek.

On opening night we celebrated Millie Harrison's birthday. Taylor bought a giant cookie from Millie's Cookies in Hammersmith, and we ate it after the show!
Dani, Charley, and Bryony, graduates of Rose Bruford who spent a year with us at St. Mary's, joined us after the show!
Post Show Party:
After the show closing night, before we struck the set and lights, the students thanked all the parents and staff from Saint Mary's for making the trip to London and for coming to the show. They then made a special presentation to Terri Harrison, Millie's mom. For those who do not know, Millie was a classmate of these students who passed away 18 months ago at Saint Mary's, and she would have been on this trip with us. The students presented Terri with a Ladyship for Millie. She is now known as Lady Millie Harrison and has a plot of land in Glencoe, Scotland.
Terri (below), as me, accepting the deed to the land and the title. This is really official and not a joke. I was also given a Lordship and land in Glencoe. I am now officially Lord Dr. Gary Diomandes. I am glad to share the honor with Millie. I believe our plots of land are next to each other. I need to check that out! These students are so wonderful! Thank you all!!!!
We had a post show get together at the small pub behind the theatre with all the parents and friends after strike. The owner wanted to provided us food at his expense! Great sandwiches, nachos, Scottish Eggs, and more.....
The two Matts
