SCOTLAND 2013

On Thursday, October 31st we boarded an East Coast Train and went to Edinburgh.  It was Holloween night!  Above and below are photos of the Edinburgh Castle taken at various times over the weekend.

After checking into the hostels various groups went off to experience Edinburgh.  We unfortunately could not book a Haunted City and Tunnel Tour because they were all sold out even with extra tours added on for Holloween.  One of the groups managed to go on one a couple of days later.  I took a group out to eat who were interested in trying haggis.  So here they are The Haggis Eaters!

They all actually liked haggis.  The other group went out to celebrate Kathleen's birthday!

After dinner we walked around and ran into a Halloween Party in St. Giles Square.  Here are some of the costumes.

The next day different groups went off and did different things.  Chris and Phil went to Saint Andrew's for the weekend to go golfing.  Here they are on St. Andrew's Old Course in front of the Ancient Roman Bridge. Saint Andrew's if a lovely town on the coast.  The beach scene in Chariots of Fire.  It is also where Prince William and Kate went to University.

Colleen booked a bike tour for the weekend; however, it was cut short because of inclement weather.  She later re-joined the group that stayed in Edinburgh and climbed Arthur's Seat with them.

Nine of the students went on the MacBackpackers tour up to the Isle of Skye.

They got to spend the weekend hiking through the Highlands and enjoying Nature....

Molly is enjoying the view in Edinburgh from Arthur's Seat.

This is a view from the Highland tour.

Here is what the group in Edinburgh experienced over the weekend.

 Hiking up to Arthur's Seat.

This group also climbed up the tower where they had a tremendous view of the City.

Prince's Street.

On the Royal Mile they came across a guy with Owls and falcons.

These pictures are out of order.  They are of our train ride back to London.  Highland photos are coming up!

Chris being Chris!  What more can I say?

Here are some of the views from the MacBackpacker's tour. Enjoy!

Legend has it that if you put your face in this particular river/stream? you will look young forever!  They all did it just in case!

 Rainbow!

Here are photos from the group that went up to Arthur's seat in Edinburgh.
