Blenheim Palace.....

Here is a preview of The Triangle Factory Fire Project that opens on Tuesday night at Tara Arts in Earlsfield.  Looking forward to seeing many of our London friends and parents of students who are coming over to see the show.  We have been rehearsing at RADA studios and in the classroom since September 4th.  I will post more pictures after the show is over next week.

A few weeks ago we spent the day at Blenheim Palace.  This is where Winston Churchill was born.  It is a great outing.  We toured the Palace which is owned by the Duke of Marlborough.  Enjoy the photos.

The fountains and gardens behind the Palace.

The Great Hall.

Molly and Churchill.  There is a great Churchill exhibit here.  It includes letters he wrote to his father when he was at bording school.

The bed Churchill was born in.

His christening gown.

One of the many rooms with portraits of family members.

The family portrait is with Consuelo Vanderbilt, who was married to the Duke, and became the 9th Dutchess, but later divorced him and moved to France and re-married.

A chaperone chair.  The couple would sit on the settee and the chapreone would sit in the corner seat.

The famous Blenheim Tapestries depicting the battle of Blenheim and the surrender of the French army.  As a result of winning the battle, the Duke was given the land that the Palace was built on.  Below is the tapestry of the French surrendering.

Our tour guide.

The dining room.  Table can seat 40.

The note sent back to England of the victory.  It was written on a bill from dinner in a restaurant.  It is all that the Duke had on him at the time.

In order for the Duke to keep the land he has to give a replica of the French standard that is on the mantle to the Queen every year or he will lose the land.  They are then destroyed.  The Duke was allowed to keep one to put on display.

Another portrait of Consuelo Vanderbilt, the 9th Dutchess.

The only animals that were woven into the tapestries were horses except for this one dog.  If you look closely you will see that the dog's legs are horses legs!!!

The Library.  This room is used for wedding receptions and other events.

Marble statue of Queen Anne.

The ornate ceiling.

Can you believe it!!!  Chris and Phil in a library!

This is the largest organ in a private residence.  We were treated to the organist playing a few numbers for us!

Arielle, Kathleen, Haylie and Becca eating at the cafe in the Palace.

Jimmy, Rebecca, and Billy taking the train to the Pleasure Gardens.

Molly, Elizabeth, and Hannah waiting for the train.

The lavender garden at the Butterfly House.

One of the lawn games in the Pleasure Garden

A model of the village of Woodstock!  Not the one we all know....

The girls eating again in the cafe in the Pleasure Gardens...they eat a lot!

Mariana and Hannah tree climbing!

Jimmy listening intently to the tour guide....NOT.

Colleen and Chris waiting for the train to bring them back to the Palace to catch the bus back to London.  Luckily we had a gorgeous day to enjoy the grounds.
